The Whole Toad And Nothing But The Toad
Toad Software technically began around the year 2000. Phil Hartmann and Eli Gassert began discussing
some custom, in-house software development efforts back. They were both so unhappy with corporate america and the
dreadded corporate latter (where he who is there the longest gets the promotion, not he who is most qualified) that their
they made a pact to work hard and release software that would make them both so rich that they wouldn't have to ever
have to work for someone else again!
Fast forward to 2005. Phil and Eli now have a bunch of half-built, needs-some-TLC software, and unfortunately
for them, they both still have their day jobs and neither hit that "super rich" point. However, late in 2005,
the duo found their new niche: software consulting.
It all started when Phil and Eli were helping a friend with a programming problem he was having at his job. They not only
helped him fix his issue, but they also taught him what he was doing wrong, why it failed, and how to improve upon the design and
performance. Inspired, their friend shared this information with their boss, who happened to be looking for some extra help.
The end result, Toad Software was born.
Out of that initial client, a flood of referrals came through Toad's doors. New clients quickly became like old friends as we
built relationships, earned trust, and organically grew our network. In fact, Toad's referral network was so strong that it single
handedly kept Toad Software afloat for over two years. Not a single job was searched nor a single contract bid in those first two years;
our satisfied network did all the work for us, and it continues to do so to this day.
Today, Toad still operates as a small consulting and engineering effort. We enjoy the one-on-one relationships we can form with
our clients and partners. We take great pride in teh work we do, we enjoy the prospect of new and exciting work, and we are never
satisfied until we put a smile on your face.
